Longest Dragon

Recently we went through Chinatown here in Melbourne. We were looking for the parade
I wasn't able to take this Dragoin in one picture, This one is stitched.

The Longest dragon I have seen yet. It took 60 young boys to handle this one.

Waterfest Parade

The Waterfest Parade was like a display of Melbourne’s different cultures. It was a great parade to have on Labour Day.

The parade worked it’s way through town and ended down at the water. Not a place for cameras. So mine went away..

Lee's Dogs

Here are two picture of Lee's Dogs.
These are the one I took care of for two weeks.

Ned and Jack

Flinders Station

This the main build to the entrance to the city.It is the main train station into the city and all the southern trams pass right next door to it. It also happens to be right next to the Yarra River. This impressive building is a beautiful landmark.

Church for us in Caulfield Ward

Church in Caulfield ward is small. Only about 100 members per week so it feels just like a branch. Yesterday was the second time for the family and we were accepted so easily into the ward.

The bishop interviewed us, asking about the callings we have had in the past.

Gemma-ann got to mix with the YSA that were there, Stephan on the other hand found he is the only young man that is there although they have one that comes every other weekend. So the Young Men’s Pres is keen to get thing happening for Stephan.

Some of the ward were not there this weekend due to it being a long weekend. But we were told that we could be going to the wards original chapel in two weeks time. That would be good due to us having to travel by tram, train and train again to get to church and it takes us about 1.5 hours to get there.

So church could be just like a branch and that’s the way we like it..

family here at last.

Well Jennifer and the Kids are here at last at the new house.

They all found it was bigger then expected. They all thought that it was going to be the same size as KL. But no it is about twice the size. So that was a pleasant surprise.
The girls like the idea of a bathroom just for themselves, although they will have to share with Stephan as well.

We all went to church as a family on Sunday and they all like the friendly nature of the ward. Although, Jennifer didn’t like being given a speaking assignment, on her first weekend. Oh well Heavenly Father knows what he is doing.

The Shipping from Malaysia arrives today so that has gotten the kids excited. It won’t take us long to make this into our new HOME.

Jennifer does still not believe that we are in Melbourne and we have a home. It has taken us two years to get. I know how she feels it took me a week realize that this is the place we are to be..

Food in South Yarra Part 1

Gallery 324

Gallery 324 is a little Italian place on Toorak Road. It has the typical Pizza and Pasta but this place is run by Italians for the Italian community. I decide that I was going to try one of the risottos. The Wait came and spoke fluent Italian. “English please” was my reply. He then proceeds to let me know the specials of the day. A fine tomato and basil risotto was my chose. With a nice pale pear juice to was it down. After twenty minutes the bowl arrived and it looked great. The waited then asked if I would like some pepper while holding a large pepper mill. I said yes. He then proceeded to dust some pepper on my meal. Disaster strikes, the pepper mile breaks and pepper everywhere across my meal. The waiter is highly apologetic and the bowl disappears. 20 Minutes later after the waiter had cleaned up the mess, the owner and chief present be with a new bowl of risotto. I think they were surprised I had stayed. The risotto is one to be remembered and they refused to charge me for it… I planned and have been back. This time of some pizza and salad on the run, they know how to make pizza of course and the Caesar Salad was fantastic. I will be introducing them to Jennifer very quickly.

Smile Thai

Another food place on Toorak road, which handles fast Thai takeaway. The peppered lamb and lemongrass is fantastic and the Thai rice was also great. All made fresh to order. None of this dish up the front getting cold and mass produced. The place had some Thai ornaments around but it was the smells coming from the kitchen that was interesting.

High Curry

This little Indian diner is in the Victoria Gardens mall. I looked at all the dishes they had on display. No buttered chicken in sight but Chicken Manchada looked very nice, And it was, hot and spicy as you would expect it to be. The saffron nice was served Hot and steaming. All on the metal plate, that we had become accustomed too in Malaysia. Another place to return to

Tonight I plan to eat Chinese, but what sort of Chinese… There are so many takeaway places with walking distance of the new house. It’s decide on which one to go to..
