Ganache Chocolates

Well, Gemma and me have been on strict diets for a long time. So we treat ourselves not so often. these little gems a chocolate from Ganache Chocolate's just up the road. They cost about $1.50 each. but they are good.

The ones with the swirls, are called Orienting Spice,
The red ones are Raspberry, white are Lemon Shock and the green ones are Sweet Lime.

We get about 10 every two weeks.
Litle mouthful's of joy.

A Night at The Market

On Wednesday Nights, Queen Vic market comes to life. All the usual stalls are gone, and a lot more art stalls appear. instead of the usual 10 food vendor, there are 40 new ones.

The first night, we had a mixture of Spanish, Indian and Texan followed by a spiced lemonade.

It was a good night out, good, food, good music and great things around us.

French Bakery Cakes

Just up the street is a french bakery. They make small cakes for tea mornings. Well we don't drink tea but we still enjoy the cakes. At $22 a box that's not to often. But they sure go fast when we do have them.

chickens at QVM

While at the Queen Victoria Market you find some usual thing, How about chickens or ducks. I love QVM and as we get there about once every three weeks. It is still a place that changes each time we go there. Roll on spring and new sight and sounds.

moon festival in Melbourne

Well it's time of the year again..

Moon festival was celebrated at church as most of the ward is Chinese. A good time had by all.

JazzBand at Vic Market

Jennifer and Myself go to the Vic market about once every two weeks to buy the meat and vegetables, and to enjoy the atmosphere. This week was Jazz Band of young guys. They were good and the money was flying for them. It was good to see young guys doing there best.

Eating Out in South Yarra

While it has been a while since I have written about food in South Yarra.

Well we have found our Favourite restaurant. It is called Little India and it just around the corner from us. Indian food just the way we like it. Hot but not that hot it burns the throat. The flavours are fantastic. We go there at least once a month as it’s not to expensive either. Cost about $100 bucks to feed 6 Adult and that includes the drinks.

Across the road we have Nando and Crepe heaven. Nando’s for spicy Chicken on the Run. Crepe heaven for breakfast on a Saturday morning, or late at night, when you feel like you want to be just the two of you.. Crepe heaven has an old English pub atmosphere to it.

Just up the road is Soda Rock CafĂ©. It’s designed to be just like a 1950’s ice parlour in the USA. Great hamburgers and ice cream treats. Stephan Loves going there. Just around the corner from the we have the Golden Dragon restaurant. This place is not the most flashest place on earth but you have to queue to get in as the food is fantastic. Pays to go with a group so you can get lots of little specialist dishes to feast upon. Just two doors down from there, you have Grab-a-Thai. They serve fast Thai takeaways. No fish and chips there, just great real Thai food. Then next dorr you have Subways and then the Kabab Store. This place has all the middle eastern stuff. Again Great food.

Tonight we are heading the other direction. Will it be Greek or Spanish or Yum Cha tonight at Toorak. The one thing you know about this area. You don’t have to be rich to eat great food. Just let your nose do the walking.

Gleadell Street market

Stephan and I went to the Gleadell street Market.
This is a small farmers market in Richmond.
There is no Meat sold, but plenty of fruit and Vegetable.
This market specialises in supplies of bulk meduim grade fruit and vegetables.

In the photo in the bottom left are boxes of Apples. 8KG for $2.
We juiced then and they were great.
Looking forward to Summer when the tomatoes and summer fruit are cheap.
And it is only a 10 minute tram ride away.
