Old Churches

All across Victoria there are numerous Churches like this one was at Blampied. They are old built around 1850. Most of the churches are stone and of the same design. There is almost one in every little town, and more then three in larger towns.
Great churches

Grahams Lake, Daylesford

Grahams Lake is on edge of Daylesford. So Victoria does have wet places. Daylesford reminded me of Arrowtown. It's even in the gold country. it's a place used by couple in melbourne for the quiet weekend retreat. I plan to bring Jennifer a lot more.

Lavender Farm

Well it's late autumn, on a road to Daylesford we came across this Lavender Farm. peaceful setting and even a modern cottage.

Yallourn trip

Well thing are very quiet around here as I am trying to spend most of my time looking for work.
I recently for for a Job interview out in Yallourn. This is a mining down. Brown coal for power stations.
Not very exciting as you couldn't get close to them.

Bushfire Area

The Bushfires in Melbourne have been to the north of us, about one hours drive north, Jennifer and I went through there about mid October. These are photo's from the trip when we went through the bush.

Thank you for your calls, but we are well away from this disaster. Our prayers are with those that lost lives and love ones.

Phillip Island trip

Phillip Island is about two hours drive from Melbourne.

It was inhabited by little blue penguins many years ago but now is a holiday island for those from melbourne.
The adams had invited us over to there holiday home. All we did was eat and sleep, and occasionally go out to the rocks to see the scene.

It was a nice place to relax and chill out. Again another pleasant weekend.

Ocean road trip with Davin

Well we went on the Great Ocean Road with Davin.

We saw the coastline and even went to see some waterfalls.
Davin even got to scare some of the wildlife.
A pleasant day out.

Drive to North East Melbourne - Alexander

On Melbourne Cup Day, Jennifer and myself decided to head north for a drive into the country up north of Melbourne. first to Seymour , Yea and then Alexander, finally heading back home through Maryville.

The country was already dry, but it was good to get into the country again, I find I need that on a regular basis. I enjoy the city but i am a country kids at heart. We got to see a lot of wildlife and the farming activity was still in progress, a change from the New Zealand habits. Still it was a good day out. Only 350 km round trip.

Dandenong Market

Well we went for a drive today to find the Dandenong market. It is the biggest suburb market in Melbourne. Well we found it and were not impressed. It had cheap stuff but the atmosphere just was not there. Got a box of Tomatoes for $8 so it wasn't a wasted trip.

Mornington Trip

We went to the Mornington Peninsula Yesterday and enjoyed ourselves at the beach.
It has been favorite place for Melbourne to head to in summer and it is no wonder why.

Long clean beach that are easy to walk and swim at. Still a little to cold to swim at yet.

But daylight saving started today. Roll on Summer

The bays east of Ottway

These bays reminded me of the Coromandel so much it wasn't funny.
But the rock formations were very different.

but these were the last on the trip.

Cape Ottway

The light house was wind blown but out in the sun. i was nice to be out in the sun for the last leg of the trip. Jennifer had been driving so I had been enjoying myself just taking picture

Ride of our Life

These Photo's were from the ride in the Helicopter. the ride only last 20 minutes but went as far West as Port Campbell to well past the 12 apostles.

Even we the cross wind it was still a smooth ride.

This a ride we won't forget to soon.

The twelve apostles

The twelve apostles is one of the great wonders and they were a great sight.

The wind was blowing and the surf was high. You could actually ee the erosion working..

Mother nature at her best.

Port Campbell

Port Campbell is a little town that is a sleep during winter. How a town ever got established there is a miracle. Sunset bed and breakfast is a get little B&B to spend a quiet night at.

Great Ocean Road view

The great ocean road is one of great road trip.
Jennifer and I went for two days driving and seeing the sites.
The weather wasn't to bad, just meant running between the rain storms.

Long billed Corella

Took this picture as we went to the "Great Ocean Road".

these birds were in a flock feeding, it was a great sight.

Dandenong Ranges National Park

Jennifer and Myself went to Dandenong Ranges National Park on Saturday

We went by train to upper Fern Gully Station and walked around.

Most of the park is still trying to recover from the fires this summer.

But it was still very nice to get out of the city.

The park has a lot of potential for summer picnics.

Sovereign Hill is a tourist attraction, set up to show what it was like in the gold rush era. They have leanrt how to do all the craft an sell there wares at a reasonable price. jennifer and me Both enjoyed the day out of city..
