Melbourne Flower Show

The Melbourne Flower show was this weekend and Jennifer and I thought as we have a garden to design and build ( or more to the point for me to build. We decided to go and see the Melbourne flower show. It's a lot smaller then the Ellislie Flower show but we did find a lot of the specialist nurseries that we would like to deal with. We also got lot of potential ideas. Jennifer got to see the Irises that I was thinking about and the clumping bamboos that could be interesting in the Japanese garden. Still could not find the statue were interest in. That is going to be a major problem to find. But we're going to keep looking. Still a good show to go to.

Morning in Melborune

Each morning Jennifer and I walk to work past the river and Flinders Station. This morning was a beautiful morning, with the ballons over the river and not a breeze to worry about, - only problem with it, was it was Monday

Satellite map of the new Lot

I found a satellite map recently of the Lot we have purchased in Alamanda. The lot we have is the one with the cross. The house on the right and in front of the lot have already started building. I'll try to keep updates on the building map.

The Great Flood

Can Melbourne get rain, well yes it can, this afternoon it started with the sky getting black. Then the Hail about half the size of a golf ball. big enough to concern car owners to get worried. but this afternoon I checked the car and it was OK. Then came the rain and boy did it come down., very fast and hard. that it turned the place into a sieve. the main windows at the back of the house became a waterfall and we had to work hard to contain all the water, but soon we had a chance to breath and then we saw the flood in the road. My concern was then car could fill with water with car driving past forming massive wave in front of them. but it wasn't long before one stalled with water in the electrics. The temperature dropped by 8 degrees in less then 1 hour. The good news is the car stayed dry on the inside and the water started to reside before it got to the door. In all an interesting afternoon, and now were watching the updates about the rest of the flooding in melbourne.. Lissa
