Winter is Here, and it's cold.

Home is normally about 3-6 degrees below what the city is.

During summer, we enjoy it.

I didn't want my Grandchildern to have that, so we got them Bikes.

So we got the Bikes.

Evenlyn was very keen to learn, and Grandma was right there to help.

Magnus on the other hand, wasn't so keen.

Bushfire that was too Close

This weekend was to be a quiet weekend

We did some shopping and were to hide inside as the temperture was high.

But as we went home from Bunnings, we saw the smoke.

When we got home the Emergency Alerts told us

that their was a grass fire in  Shffield Road

During the day the Fire Boys worked and bringing it under control.

Late in the evening, the wind changed and Suddenly it was

A serious Bushfire

The fire could be seen fromt he house., SO we were up for most of the night, monitring the channels and being alert. the 72 Hours packs came ou, in case we needed leave quickly.

Luckily for us, firies were able to bring it under control. And the rain arrived early

and by mid morning it was declared out and closed.

From burkes Lookout, you could see the damage.

Way to Close

Yellow tailed Cockatoo

Yellow Tailed Cockatoo are  an occassional sight around here. We hear their screaches high in the trees. I spot these two eating Pinecones when I was at the park walking Nara.

They were a delight to see.

Camping at Jamieson Creek

Gemma and Myself decided a on camping trip was on this weekend.

We quickly gathered everything together and took off to Jamieson creek in the High Country

It backs onto the Goulbum River and has plenty of Camp site

Ice cream is a must to start any trip

We drove the Tunnels Bend camping ground and setup camp just as it was about to go dark.

The Dogs got confused and the every little sound had them on edge.

They just did not know what was going on.

But bedtime, meant they had to stay in the Tents and sleep.

In the morning the Camp looked good

And the Dogs found the River, funtime to start the day.

We would stay by the river most of the day.

The river was bueatifull to relax by but we had to go home at the end of the day as mum was flying the next day from NZ

And the views over the high country were just as nice as when we drove in.
