Wrightwick House and Gardens

We arrived at Wrightwick House in the rain, so it was a dash into the house.

The mansion was built in the 1800's

Based on a Tudor design

The lord of the hosue had mney and was in politics.

But it was still a home.

With great early 1900 paintings.

cozy little nooks that keep you warm.

And rooms to play in

Cosy bedrooms 

large greeting halls

impressive hallways

great paintings

but old kitchens

outside, you realize they don't miss on the details either

Wow what a house. We both rank this house very highly.

Kevner Rock Houses

These little Homes in the rock were built of many centuries 

and gradually got big until they are quite large

They are in the rock face 

with Tiled Floors, white wash walls

But facilities were as expected

but they were cozy

they were warm and easy to heat.

and cute, o one is the same as the other

Heat was easy and this old stove warmed 3 houses at once.

above ground were some modern versions, built in the 1800's

They still had gardens

Croft castle

Croft Castle 

this was just the front, a fake castle front built in the 1900's

First the walled garden

This large garden is one of the Nation Trusts major gardens

with beautiful paths and lots of internal varied gardens

Borders and Orchards

To garden ponds and wild grasses

It started Raining so we made a dash for the House.

Inside was a 1930 House with a lot of volunteers working hard

So old prints from the 1700's

To beautiful prints that were printed here 

A lot of beautiful homes

The hall way from the painting. Did you spot it.

This is the oldest painting but was from the 1600, Not a bad picture right.

Outside the house is the chapel, sadly it was locked tight.

Wigmore Castle

Wigmore Castle is the home of my Great great great ----- Grandfather

Roger de Mortimer Died in 1330

We arrived as it was just raining 

The site has been a ruin for over 400 Years

Some area's were out of bound

some part hve been saved

But most is wall out of the ground ruins.

Black Park

 Finally, I got a chance to go Black Park

 The park is used a miviebackdrop on so many movies.

Basiclly it is a park with lots different sorts of trees.

And great paths to walk on.

Now to try to get Jennifer there to walk..
