Jorik Museum

York started as a Traders Town back in the Viking era.

So not far from the Shambles is Jorik Museum.

Inside the Muesum was not much old stuff, 

It was more ride through an old Viking Village as it would have been in Jorik.

It proved to be the highlight of the Trip.

With much on show, and the different types of people there.

It was great dark show but I could use a flash occasionally.

The Shambles, York

The Shambles in York is a Street.

It has been used in Many movies over the years 

It has cute statues next to the sign posts

There are No cars, Just lots of Tourists

It a Dark Street full of Old Buildings from that are 100's of years old.

the Street can get very narrow

This of Course is Diagon Alley from Harry Potter Movie

So of Course we had to stop and shop in the Store.

And by the looks of it. That what most Tourists do.

Wonderful Street with Wonderful Stores.

The Kings Experince was not very impressive, Just a small Museum

But Out the Window, you got some views of York in the Cold Misty Air.

With York Minister in the Background above all the old houses.

Looking into Backyards of some of the houses.

But it was the view of the York Minster int he background was the best Shot.

A OLD town city in England with a lot of History

So A day in this town we were expecting to see a lot, and that we did. 

Jennifer was still recovering so we had to take it slow.

We found a Car Park nearby.and headed straight for York Minister

Passing this Church on the way.

York Minister is an impressive Building

We quickly Dashed inside due to the cold.

Once inside the size of this place became apparent. 

The windows were original and magnificent

The ceiling was restored but to the original design

And most of the statues had been cleaned.

The scene was just out of the movies.

and in the Chapter House, the Ceiling was impressive.

But it was the windows that amazed us.

But WOW what a Place. But York awaited.

So we were off Again.

Wharram Percy Village - or lack of Village

OK, We went to see the village of Wharram Percy.

what we found was a  old ruin of a church

and not much else. so off we went to find something else.

Blenheim Palace Christmas

Blenheim Palace is about an hour to the north for us.

We heard that they have a Christmas market

It was a cold wet day but we were determined.

The Christmas Market was not as large as expected

We purchased some Christmas treats but not much else.

But once inside the Palace had been transformed 

It has been setup as a Cinderella Story at Christmas.

but it was still cold and wet 

and this was impacting numbers  at the Market

But te church was warm and open

Bath Christmas Market

Pauline was over to help support Jennifer after her Surgery

So today it was a chance to take her to show her Bath. 

It was the time of the Christmas Market

So lots of Crowds but behind it all was a beautiful place called Bath.

OH end the architecture was still great
