Vintage Car Rally

Every Year, the CFA work with eh Vintage Car clubs to put on an Event. The year was our first.

We were all involved in fundraising for the Local CFA, Stephan Rj was cooking sausages, burgers, and onions. I was on make hot dogs, and Dim Sims while Jennifer was running around keeping us and the other supplied.

By the end of the day, we were exhausted. But the cars we saw were fantastic.

(note - not my photos as I was too busy making food)

Weekend stroll with Nara

Each Saturday and Sunday I get a chance to walk Nara a distance in the forest just down the road.

It is just so pleasant to take the time to enjoy nature.

Although I am trying to teach Nara not to chase the birds.

Rabbits are fair game.

The Mulch Pit

The Mulch Pit is just down the hill.

I go about once a week to it, sometimes twice to collect a truckload of Mulch

It's actually chipping mulch from the shredders that the tree guys work on, sometimes they leave heaps of it, and sometimes it is low for a week or two.

We use it extensively in the garden.

Nara loves running around in it and digging for rabbits
I get about 2mtrs on the back of the truck with each load.
The Tubs help me carry more. as it is quite light stuff

Haircut for Santa.

While at the hairdresser having an overdue haircut, of my long white hair. A small girl probably about 3 years old, came over me and asked, “Are you Santa Claus”. I responded, “Even Santa needs a haircut”. She quickly ran back to her Mum and telling her, I was Santa

Her Mum told her, she had to sit still and be good for Santa, The hairdresser laughed and continued the haircut, Meanwhile the little girl sit perfectly still with a smile on her face,

When The hairdresser had finished, she slipped me a Lollypop and I paid the bill.

As I went Out, I knelt in front of the little girl and told her “Please stay on the nice list, not the naughty list, and gave her the Lollypop”.

She shouted she would, As I winked to her Mum.

As I walked out her Mum had a smile that was memorable. And a little girl shouting she knows Santa.  As for me, I had a warm smile that I had made a little girl’s day.

Healesville Sanctuary

The Healesville Sanctuary is a quiet little zoo, especially for local animals.

Jennifer and I have passes that let us almost any time.

This morning, there were not many people about due to Covid and animals missed seeing people.

This echidna wasn't having anything of it, food was all on his mind.

Meanwhile, this guy came up close and then decided to hide behind his wing.

but I was able to get so great shots.

These lorikeets were just playful but when the camera came out.

They got shy

A pleasant day for us as it wasn't too hot.

Nara, Offical Photo's

Nara is now 8 months old, and finally adult size.

She has become a major family member. A loved one by all

So I decided to take some portrait photo's of her.

Nara has a strong Pointer Head on her.

But she is a Labrador at Heart.

Garden on Flower

It's summer and the summer flowers are out in full bloom.

Spreading the meadow flower seeds has been well worth it.

Sweetpeas, Poppies of many sorts, in the bright summer sun.
