Chantelle goes to Temple

Chantelle went through the Temple for the first time on Tuesday. She was so happy and the spirirtstrong. Stephan was as happy as she was, as they gte married in 3 days.

Standen House

Standen House, built between 1891 and 1894 by architect Philip Webb , who was a friend of William Morris , designed the house for the prosperous London solicitor, James Beale, his wife Margaret, and their family of seven children. The home has many of the Morris art features and the Webb eccentric design. Inside the house was setup the as if the House if the 1900's family had just walked out for an outing.     The home is darker then expected and the furnishing are all original. The Apple tress are over 120 years old. But is was the design of the house that Amazed me. This design was beautiful and looked like the house had evolved but it wasn't. The bulbs were just starting to bloom But it was the house that was the feature. And it's only 10 minutes from the London Temple.

Stonehenge

The First Time we visited Stonehenge it was closed. So this time we had a pass and wanted to go. It was cold and wet again and you cannot get to close tot he stones now. But the scene is picturesque. Worth a revisit but only the once.

Caen Hill Locks

Caen Hill Locks (pronounced "Cane") are a flight of locks on the Kennet and Avon Canal, between Rowde and Devizes in Wiltshire, England. ... The locks come in three groups. The lower seven locks , Foxhangers Wharf Lock to Foxhangers Bridge Lock , are spread over ¾ of a mile (1.2 km). We arrived in the morning. With a Barge about to start the Climb. it take about 4 hours to go up the locks.  This sight is on a side road as we went from Lacock to Stonehedge.

Lacock revisit

Lacock Abbey, having been there before but not having time explore, it was time to revisit. The barn was open this time, this is the Barn Harry Potter sheltered in in one of the movies. The is the Pub from the movie. The church was open and looked interesting. The was a 1300 Chruch that needed work. Unfortunately it needs work. Inside the village, were many sight to enjoy, this is an old village that seems to have stopped in time. Only one street sign and it is 150 years old. Inside the Abbey we got to see the place, It needs alot of restoration on it. But the statues of the siats were great peices of work. As well as the gounds Witht he sring Flowers starting to come out. A great place to revisit.

Allington Farm Shop

Allington Farm Store for breakfast. We stopped here for breakfast on the way to Lacock. The shop was well presented and we enjoyed ourselves checking it out. Great selection to choose from. Jennifer was more interested in Breakfast, she was hungry.

quiet weekend exploring local and beyond

The Day started off with a walk to Eton and doing the Windsor Circuit. While on the walk in the mornign I get to see Life. Like the Eton College Hound Pack going for a walk.    The pack walker avoids getting to close to people as 40 dogs can be overwhelming.   Good a Great sight in the morning The Egyptian geese were busy getting ready for spring, eating flat out of course. I passed Datchet church and enjoyed the little church. By the time the afternoon arrived, we made the headed for London again. The British Museum, was the first stop, even though the enlightenment room was closed :-( So I headed for the China Section and followed a lecture being presented. after that we head out shopping. Camden Market was the target. So Jennifer was in her element She Loves the clothes store there. I like the life, Like this store selling European Hams. this is a view, something you don't see in Australia. A pleasant day.
