Standen House, built between 1891 and 1894 by architect Philip Webb, who was a friend of William Morris, designed the house for the prosperous London solicitor, James Beale, his wife Margaret, and their family of seven children. The home has many of the Morris art features and the Webb eccentric design.
Inside the house was setup the as if the House if the 1900's family had just walked out for an outing.
The home is darker then expected and the furnishing are all original.
The Apple tress are over 120 years old.
But is was the design of the house that Amazed me.
This design was beautiful and looked like the house had evolved but it wasn't.
The bulbs were just starting to bloom
But it was the house that was the feature.
And it's only 10 minutes from the London Temple.
