The Royal Bath and West Show is a major Show for the Year
So it was on the bucket list for things to visit
This weekend was it. So 2 hours of driving and it is not in Bath but more near Radstock
When we arrived, Parking was available and we quickly got tickets and were in.
First was the Pigs as that was next to the entrance
Lots of little pigs but it was the Glosters that we enjoyed.
Then into the cattle area.
Jennifer found she like the little Red Devons.
English Longhorn were present, and they were just some of the rare breeds
We then went into the Falconry section, Today was the eagles.
And what surprised me, was none of them had hoods, but all were very attentive to the visitors.
But it was the big horses to see the breeds that are rare
Puncheon Horses are large and don't have feathering.
Young Clydesdales
Lovely Suffolks
That just didn't want to care.
But for me, it was the Shires
Most were getting ready for the finals of the decorated class
This Puncheon took best on display for 2 year olds.
Look at the size of him.
But i was more interested in the Shires.
Even rare Whites were show.
After them we had start to have lunch and band was playing in the park.
The food hall was not as big as expected
But who could resist these temptations.
Old roundabouts going
This one had been running since 1922
The kids enjoyed the Car on the tracks as well
Some just enjoyed the sun.
Then onto the fowl. They only had some geese on show. the rest had finish two days earlier.
Entertainment abounded
So we head back past the stock on show
Some were reluctant
But the last stop was the sheep, Devonshire sheep with there large horns
Jacob sheep with their four horns
Strawberry colored sheep as well
But it was the Welsh Black Mountain Sheep that we both liked. They are just black.
A good day out in the sun seeing the sight of English farms.
