We had driven pass the Warwick Castle sign so many times we decided to do it. So Off we went on a Bright Sunny Day.
It lived up to being a Castle. With Towers and Knights.
Some area we found we could not use the Camera but that was OK.
It took 30 Minutes to get Tickets into the Castle but once in it didn't disappoint us.
There were crowds but nothing that could be overcome with patience,
Once into the grand hall, there was all the usual Knight in Armour, etc.
This was well displayed, and you could get close to it.
The Armour dated Back to 1600s
Horse and all.
The room had been decorated the Castle would have been when the King was there in the 1890s
The Windows were all stained glass windows and very finely painted.
We took a while inside a saw more knights and Armour
From the tower, you could see most of Warwick. The cathedral in the distance.
and the Town below
The Cathedral was to be the next Stop as we could see it from the Castle
This Cathedral is in Brown Stone. not white, It was darker because of that
The windows were replacements as the original had been bombed out.
But the main one was still pre 1700.
The Hall was open and well light.
Some windows need extra study.
This set said a lot.
As for the side chapel. this was a beautiful and quiet space.
Also was a special chapel marked for a Knight from the crusades.
After we headed to Lord Leycester Hospital
These twisted Timber-framed buildings dating
from the 14th century caught our eye when
we came in so we wanted to see them.
They were just as expected, Old and looking they were holding each other up. The Timber framing was usual as well.
The chapel was attended only by a few these days, and Tourists
But the carvings were still just as beautiful.
The buildings were built for retired knight and soldiers, it was never and Hospital.
But sometimes the old soldiers just cannot get to there apartments, They are still apartments for old soldiers to this day.
As for this. This was on a tree as we went old.
Sometimes maybe the old soldiers do stick around?
