Monet at Lune

 The exhibit at the Lune has changed and is now "Monet and Friends".

So off we went, Stephan and Mel were back, and Gemma-ann was still with us.

The show was based on the Impressionist Movement. As we like the impressionists we had to go.

A fun morning for all that attended.

New Lotus Pond

 We got a large Pond off a Facebook site early in the year and the pond has gone in. 

We deliberately put it into the hottest and sunniest spot in the garden.

The aim was to put a Lotus pond. They need bright light and warm conditions.

So this weekend we setup with finally getting the Lotuses

Luna thought the pond was a new Swimming pool. Instead, it becomes the new race Track to run around.

Christmas 2022

 Christmas 2022 was a quiet affair this year.

On Christmas eve this year, we had the usual turkey dinner ( Jamie Olver Style) that mum cooked.

As Stephan RJ and Mel were going away to her Parents across Christmas.

So Christmas Dinner this here was just a quiet meal with Gemm-Ann and the Dogs.

The food was good, and the music was peaceful and spot-on for the occasion.

The dogs enjoyed being outside although the Bandaners did stay on very long.

The day was also not so hot, so it was pleasant outside.

 Each Year we enjoy going into the city to watch the Christmas Lights

This year, we did it on a Friday night just before Christmas weekend.

 It was very crowded, and surprisingly not many lights.

So we got some food and enjoyed the evening.

 Nara and Luna are the best of friends, 

they enjoy being outside in the garden digging up plants spreading weeds and digging a hole.

Christmas Tree Goes up

 I let Jennifer convince me the the Christmas tree could go up in the 2nd of Decmeber

She wanted a real tree this year. 

It was just as well we go it then, as there is a shortage of trees this year.

Now to teach the Dogs not to touch the decorations.

 The dogs have become the best of friends 

and Luna loves coming to the monutain

where she can do Dog things like stick her head out the window.

 

Bad Spring

 This year Spring was very wet and the wind hard.

So the plants struggled with it.

The peonies bloomed but only for a couple of days before they were torn to shreds.

The iriesproved the surprise with many coming out and surviving more then 4 days

 

Rain Rain and more Rain

Well, the first month of spring is here and it has been the wettest Spring on record.

Flooding down in the valley and lots of mud around. The garden has tried its best to bloom, but the wind and rain have taken their toll.

The tulips and daffodils came and went almost as fast as they appeared. The rhododendrons and azaleas have been beautiful this year and have lasted a long time.

The peonies came a went but had a lot of growth on them. The weeds have had their way too as well have not been able to get out a weed them when they were young.

But the bronze breech is now out in all its glory, so summer is not far away.

And the forest in the morning is so peaceful

So quiet with just the sounds of the birds and a dog running in the forest.

This yiung guys was so hungry, he was willing to take from Gemma-anns's Hand

 

Hail Storm Strikes Kalorama

A big storm came over us in the afternoon, dropped 6 inches of rain 

but in the middle of it was a splash of HAIL, not too big to cause damage to cars, but still big enough to splash delicate plants.

But the real issue was the amount of it. 

Blocked lots of drains and caused the water from the rain to go place it shouldn't.

 

 

 

Gemma-ann has a new Puppy.

 Gemma-ann has picked up her new Puppy. Meet Luna.

 

Luna is only 10 weeks old and is a Cavadoodle.

     Luna has started to settle with Nara, 

but Nara is Big and bounces too much for Luna they have the potential of being great friends.

Going to the Zoo in Sydney is strange

 First, you go on the Train with Grandma,

 

Then you walk around Sydney with Aunty

Then you go on a Ferry across the Harbour

And then on a Gondola.

Quiet Sunday Afternoon with Family

 After the Blessing, we went to Jakob's Family Home. Host by the in-laws.

This gave the kids a chance to relax and run around, and for us to get to know the Family.

It was gathered outside but the food was great, 

slow-cooked pork with Spicy chicken wings and burger goods.

Gemma got to Cuddle Magnus.

Evelyn got to play with her cousins

Jennifer just sat and talked getting cold the whole time.

Magnus finally got blessed on the 14 of August, And all the family was there.

And I mean all the Family. It was a great Gathering.

Magnus was a perfect quiet baby

Jakob was Smiling the whole time, while Evelyn was just bemused by all the action

But her cousins were there so it was alright, Amelia and Lilly. 

(Lilly is one week young than Evelyn).

Evelyn was cute so that covered it.

But when Evelyn had enough, she was ready to go.
