Old sarum

Old Sarum is major fortification that that is just outside the Town of Salisbury.

The fort was small fortification up until when William the Conqueror arrived.

The site was well maintained by English Heritage.

The sun was out and view were great.

He turned the fort into a major fortification in the 13th Century.

So there was Castle,

and large Abbey with a small  large town surrounding it

Most of it  was stone walls that still existed. and descriptions of what they were.

These for example were the Kitchens.

and soldiers quarters.
