Bolton Abbey, A beautifull Abbey set in the Yorkshire Dales
This was one of many Abbeys in the Yorkshire are that was destored in the reformation Period.
This one is now privately owned,
so we went on a rainy day to explore the Dales and more
It is set in a quiet Valley and would have been a hub of a large community
Of course it is a ruin, but it most have been impressive in it time.
Part of it has been restored and is used by the local community
The windows have even been restored. Their goal is to do a full restored over time.
and that is going to take a lot of work.
But he graveyard is still active. A nice little place, that we could take time out on.
