London Museum

Well, the weekend arrived and a chance to get out of the little damp room. So off to the British Museum, last time I went through it, Jennifer was suffering Jet lag and awesomeness syndrome.  So this time we went to slow down. target was the Enlightenment room and actually look at the displays. As usual not much light unless the sunlight came in the windows. Late Winter in England, So not much.  It wasn't overcrowded either And the displays were great.  Like this first edition of Charles Darwin's "The Origins ofSpecies"   Or Royal Medals to show history  Or Royal Mint Sovereigns  and a whole lot more, we spend over 2 hours in this one room.  We then went and had lunch at the St-Martin-in-the-Fields.  We then walked down to Westminister Abbey and checked it out. The sun was out and you could see the Skyline of then buildings.  They are beautiful buildings  Big Ben tolled again to remind us we had been out to long

Nature Walkway

On the Monday I went for a walk on the Longest of the Parks,  the Nature Walkway is an old Railway line, it was great walk, again int he cold. It was on this day that we decide to move. because of the cold.

Regant Park.

It was cold, and the room was cold again, so I decided to take a long walk. Regent Park was the target. Along the way, I found the Taris, I plan sight, the Doctor was around, busy doing something of exciting of course, but he locked the Tardis.   when I got to Regent park, it was cold. and not much around.  Not many people around.  Ice was where there was water. But the sounds of the nearby moqsuebought back memories of Malaysia. But I got a chance to see a Smew.

Parliment Hill College

The 26th was a typical boring day, and the new room was very cold, so I got an walked.   I took some pictures of the Parliment Hill College in the evening. It is a big school compared to Aussie schools.

Walking around Hornsey

From the new Place in Hornsey, I now walk Jennifer to work and then take a long walk home. Sometimes going through the back of Hampstead Heath, past the old Spaniards Pub dated 1585.  It causes a bit of a pinch point in the road but it still there  And I get to see the Alexander Palace  or the old church of Crouch End  or the French Bakery also at Crouch End  or St Joseph's of Highgate  or the Old Upholster at Highgate rise. Just some of the sights

Avioding th March on moving day.

Saturday came, and we had to move, We said our goodbyes to Etta, she was a good host. We packed the Suitcases and Packs, Surprising it all fitted in. Just as well, as it looks like we could be heading back to Australia in 3 weeks. We wheeled the suitcases to the train station and off we went. We had arranged a place in an area called Hornsey. And Archway was the nearest Station, I only meant changing trains once. We made it. The room is small but the bed is better than the last one, and the shower is good. But it is on the 3rd floor, up a very tight Stairway, guess who had to carry each bag up to the room. By the time I finished my 3rd Trip up the stiarsI felt like I would have had a heart attack, If it wasn't for the fact I had lost 30Kg last year, I probably would have.  Once in the room we quick left, it was Saturday and Jennifer only day to travel, this time it was the National Art Gallary. We happened to get there just as the World Women's March arrived.  But we g

Last walk in Bermondsey

Well, we have finally had to move, this is due to Another guest that booked into the apartment months ago so we cannot extend. So before we moved I decided to walk to the O2 Stadium and see the Thames Barrier if Possible. So the Friday before we moved, I headed to Greenwich and beyond.  The Lake in Southwark Park was frozen, But walking was brisk, So I kept warm. I got lost near the stadium and checked the map. I was only 100 Meters from the Thames.  When I came out, The Barrier was to the East, and the walkway finished.  To the east was the Cableway. Not that impressive.  The tide was out so things were high and dry.  But walking around the stadui, you begin to realise, this is one ugly building. The design is good, but all the equipment and utilities that stick out of it, make it ugly.  But I did walk around it.  The Thames walk reveals a lost about London, Here Big Machine had to unload stone and sand, and then load the build-mud from the city.
