Taking taxi's is the normal way that tourist get around in KL.
Insist on the meter or just don't get in.
But make sure the taxi driver know hwere you want ot go.
We were traveling from the Petronas Tower to the bird Park last weekend.
The driver got lost. So out came the map books. The driver also stopped the meter once he knew that we knew he was lost.
So the ususal cost would have been about RM12 and cost us RM15. But we got to see a bit of the back streets around KL in the process.
