Day 4 was set to relax and slow down, yah right.
Greenwich was planned
So today started with a City Cruise from Westminster Pier down the Thames
The breeze was cold but it was not raining
Big Ben looks good from almost any directions.
The Boat slipped passed the London Eye
and stopped at the Shakespeare Pier
Building take on a new view from the river.
Slipped under the London Bridge
Passed Hays Wharf (now Hays Gallery)
But it was the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge views.
The boat turned around just before Tower Bridge to give us extra views.
It also stopped at Tower Pier to pick up and drop off Passengers.
Then we got to go under Tower Bridge.
Then we headed to Greenwich passed all the old wharf building that are now expensive apartments.
Once in Greenwich we walked around the Streets and Market. ( note the market again was int he dark)
Then onto the Cutty Sark
This is a living Monument to sailing ships.
This a beautiful Ship that they have fully restored.
We had the oppurtunity to go anywhere in the ship. If you went into the rigging you had to have a harness. It was cold So I didn't. :-)
Then onto the Naval College, which is now the university of Greenwich.
We got to see the Old Paint Hall (No Photo's) and the Chapel at the Old Royal Naval College, (again No Photo's Allowed)
and Sorry NO remains of any alien space ship.
Marval Fans will understand the comment.
Beautiful Architecture everywhere. and to think this started as a hospital...
We then proceeded to the Queens House
It was filled with beautiful painting and again NO photo's allowed but a noticed the guard walk out of this room, so a did 2 panoramic pictures to get full 360's
The artwork of course were just just maritime based.
So after this we went to the Maritime Museum.
Sorry No Photo's except for this one
But the best thing there was the Painting of Trafalgar painted by Turner.
this is large painting and detail is amazing. again, in the dark and NO Photo's Allowed.
By this time we came out it was late, so we went home through Canary Wharf by train.
