Scotland - Day Five - Balmoral Castle and the Highlands Part A

Today was the drive from Inverness to Edinburgh
The day had cleared and views were into the distance.
And what views there were.
As we had decided to drive from Inverness to Balmoral
it meant that we would be driving through the highlands of
Cairngorm Nation Park. on some very narrow roads
This showed us what the highlands should be like.
And what they were. Before sheep farming took off on the 1800'sit was mostly forest.
Today commercail forests are starting to take over.
But what views we got to see.
We arrived at Balmoral Castle on a clear Early Spring Day.
The River Dee was running quietly along

The Castle sat in the sun, ready to be explored.
But it is the grounds that we came to explore.
Balmoral is self Sufficient Esate.
It grows all it needs, Flowers and Crops.
The Beds were aready to be planted out.
The glass house had early blooms alrradyout.
 The Flowers looked ready fantastic
The blooms ready to cut
Balmoral Casle gleamed in the Light and invited us.
They even had a summer house here.
But it was the Castle we wanted to see.
They had an room to show an exhibt.
Showing the past of the Castle.
After this we were off to Stirling Castle.
Thats Part B
