Scotland - Day one - The long drive north

The road trip to Scotland was a long one, so we decided to stop along the way.
Morsley Old Hall was a perfect stop at the halfway point.
The Hall has changed as it has been bricked up in the 1800s
The garden is still the same.
The interior has been restored to when Bonnie price Charles was there.
This House was used to settle him when the Jacobite uprising failed.
the table looked just the same as well.
The bed he slept in has been restored as well.
The house was a humble place.
there are pictures of what the house looked like originally
this is also where the term came from for the
"Square Meal"
Once we finished here it was off to Gretna Green.
Gretna Green was the place where young eloper would run to. It would be the place where they would be married
The local blacksmith would be the first to be able to do this in Scotland.
To this day, many still come to get married here.
They would be married over this anvil
The Orginal Anvil is now just a museum item.
The Scotland Trip had just begun.
