Scotland - Day Four - Loch Ness and Culloden

The Morning woke up early with a sunrise that was beautiful.
Light bouncing off the mountain top.
The mist had lifted.
Revealing the Mountian tops and those beyond.

Ben Nevis was still in Cloud when we went passed.
The mountain ranges all had snow and looked amazing.
We found a memorial was the commando's that were lost in the war.
This was the area they trained in.
When we got to Loch Ness, we did the Museum
and back on the road as there was not much else.
The Loch was not looking nice
as the weather had closed in.
So we made for Brodie Castle the furthermost point we had planned for the day
we made it about Lunchtime.
This 16th Century Castle has been a home for the lard for 400years.
So it had collected Junk, and the only place to take photos was in the Kitchen.
So after Castle Brodie, we decided to check Culloden.
This was the site of the last major battle on English soil.
So it had History.
On the way, we passed this Viaduct and it was a long one.
Once At Collodenwe search for the Headstones.
This one is for the Clan  MacGillivray
The clan almost got wiped out.
 Glen Maclean and Maclachlan
 Glen Mackintosh
Even the mixed Clans were mentioned.
Clan Stewart
Clan Cameron
And one big Monument for the rest
This is a monument the British didn't want for many decades.
Today it is a sacred place to the Scot's.
After this, we went back into Inverness
We got to see  Inverness Castle on the Hill.
But we planned to finish the day
Exploring St Andrews Cathedral
This is an old Cathedral that has not been damaged in wars.
So the Windows are still original hand painted
They were well worth the effort to go see.
Each Pew had a carved charater on them.
These were works of art themselves
On our eway to the BNB,
we saw the statue that marked the the Seagulls.
