Bempton Cliffs, Bridlington was the first stop for today,
it was a drive out west but it was to have Puffins.
And Jennifer wanted to see Puffins.
There were plenty of Razorbills.
But there were Puffins.
And this picture Proves it.
Jennifer was thrilled we finally go to see Puffins.
Even though they are very hard to see on these cliffs.
But they were there
These cliffs were just a hum of bird life. and they were only half full.
But what a display.
After this, we continued to drive south.
The next place was the remodeled family home of Bess of Hardwick, one of the richest and most remarkable women of Elizabethan England, the New Hall she raised later in the 1590s was the target
Bess had money and spent it cautiously.
She had filed for everything.
The tapestries were expensive and contained gold in them.
She welcomed the Queens many times
A hall to display her wealthy paintings.
And she was formidable.
her room was elegant
her room stylish.
The House was huge.
The fireplaces she used were small as Coal cost moeny.
but she wore clothes that were comfortable?
yah, this casual attire for her.
The gardens were small and it was raining now. so we had a long drive home.
and Austria to go tomorrow.
